Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you register, maintain an account, create a matrimonial profile, upload photos, communicate with members, or contact support. Depending on how you use the service, this can include your name, email address, phone number, city, state, country, postal code, login information, profile details, photos, partner preferences, and other information you choose to provide.

We also receive basic technical and security information as a normal part of operating the service, such as your IP address, browser or device information, cookies, session data, and server or activity logs.

How we use information

We use information to create and maintain accounts; provide matrimonial, profile, search, and member communication features; operate and improve the service; protect accounts; prevent fraud, spam, and abuse; respond to support requests; and send service-related communications.

Shared account across our sites

iMilap, VivahOnline, and DesiMilap participate in a shared account and member platform. The same member account may work on each participating service, and signing in on another participating site with the same account does not necessarily create a separate account.

Relevant account information and matrimonial profile information may therefore be available across these sites so that we can authenticate you and provide the shared service. Account and contact information, such as an email address used for login or support, is used internally to operate and protect the service unless you choose to place it in content intended for display or another feature expressly makes it available.

Public profile information

Matrimonial profile information and photos you submit may be visible to other members and, depending on the page and available profile or photo settings, to visitors. Profile descriptions should not contain sensitive information, email addresses, or web links. Your account email address, password, and other contact information are not treated as public profile fields merely because you created an account.

Sign in with Google and other login providers

If you choose to sign in through Google, Facebook, or another authentication provider, we may receive information needed to identify and authenticate your account, such as a provider account identifier, email address, and verification or authentication information. We do not receive your password for that provider. Information processed by the provider is also subject to that provider's privacy policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and session technologies to keep you signed in when requested, protect accounts, remember preferences, and provide site functionality. We also use analytics and measurement technologies, including Google Tag Manager and Piwik PRO, to understand site use and improve the service. Your browser may allow you to limit cookies, but some account and site features may then stop working correctly.

How information is shared

Information may be shared in the following circumstances:

• matrimonial profile information you submit for display may be shown to members or visitors;
• relevant account and profile data may be used across iMilap, VivahOnline, DesiMilap, and other participating services in the shared network;
• vendors and service providers may process information when needed to host, secure, analyze, communicate for, or otherwise operate the service; security checks may include Cloudflare Turnstile where enabled; and
• information may be preserved or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or secure the service.

We do not describe account or profile information as being sold.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information. No website, transmission, or storage system can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong, unique password and take care when deciding what to include in a public profile or member communication.

Your choices

After signing in, you can edit your account and contact information, update your matrimonial profile, manage available photo privacy options, or use the Cancel Account option to close your membership and hide your profile. You may also contact support with account or privacy questions. Some records may still be retained as described below.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the service, maintain account and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. The period varies according to the type of information and why it is needed.

Children's privacy

The service is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that age is higher. We do not knowingly offer the service to anyone who does not meet this requirement.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the current version on this page and update the date shown above.
